Kind of an interesting picture. The funny thing about it is that I was trying to find an angle that wouldn't show my hair, since I haven't showered yet and it's looking a bit...well, greasy. But the picture makes me look a bit Clockwork Orange, eh?

So I was telling Mary yesterday that I lost 15 pounds since May or so. I'm not quite sure how that happened, but I think it's been the convergence of a few factors:

  1. I've been drinking Pepsi One instead of regular soda. To many people this would not make much of a difference, but when you drink 3 or 4 24 oz. sodas/day, it does.
  2. This summer, I've been making more of an effort to get out and do things, although not so much in the last few weeks. But earlier in the summer, I was trying to play tennis, go for walks and such.
  3. More recently, I've been making an effort to buy less easily consumable junk food. In case you missed this, I'm really lazy. And when I get hungry, faced with the choice of peel an orange, or open a bag of chips, the chips will win every time. So I've stopped buying chips. So now, when I get hungry, I frequently just don't eat. I should clarify that. When I say "hungry" in the previous statement, I don't mean when I feel the physical symptoms of hunger. I mean, when I'm bored and can't think of anything else to do, I eat. I know it's not healthy, or a good dieting strategy, to deprive your body of food. I do eat when I'm physically hungry, but I'm trying to keep it to just those times.

So it's not really rocket science. Other than that, I haven't really been watching what I eat or exercising much. Don't get me wrong, I still have a lot of weight to lose before I'm in a healthy range for my height and frame. But it's kind of encouraging, none the less.

I went over to Mary's last night to hang out and check out her new digital cable. We watched Sex & The City. Mary's seen it a few times and I had never seen it, but I've read about it. It was a pretty good show. I can see why after a few episodes, you would be hooked. Plus I like to look at the pretty clothes.

Then we watched Sopranos. Also a good show, but neither of us had seen it before so we were both pretty confused as to what was going on. I wanted to stay and watch OZ, but I had to stop at the grocery store on the way home and it was 10PM already. So I left. We had a good time. It's always nice to see Mary and Terry.

Expert Central is an interesting site. I would like to sign up as an expert, but I'm a little embarrassed to say "Expert on cheesy teen dramas on the WB and sitcoms of the '80s".

Purchase Circles are interesting, but why do I want to know what other people in my town are buying? I guess I can see wanting to know what other people in my profession are buying.

I'll take "Things I Would Pay a Lot of Money to See" for $500: Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes are doing some concerts together in NY and LA. So sue me, I'm a Black Crowes fan.

I don't really understand how this could happen: Martin Lawrence goes for a jog and goes into a coma.

Whatever. I watched TV all the time as an infant and I don't see any ill effects. Stop laughing.
