Hey, I got a forum! Come on over and add your two cents on any of the questions. Or add your own new question. All the cool kids are doing it!

First, I want to mention that Molly and her husband put in an offer on another house and it got accepted last night! So barring any serious disaster, they will be moving into a house in August. She's the first of my friends in the area to buy a house, so I'm pretty excited about it. I'm living vicariously through her.

In the spirit of my high school Alumni Days this weekend, I thought I would share some high school memories to complement my elementary school memories earlier this week.

I went to a small high school - there were 97 people in my graduating class, and most of us were in the same class from kindergarten right through senior year.

I wasn't miserable in high school (much) nor was I ecstatic in high school (much). I had a good group of friends (including Molly, my best friend mentioned above).

My biggest memories of high school, honestly, are of writing notes. There was such a code attached to writing notes to your friends. The content of the notes were pretty boring, actually. It was a lot of, "So I'm sitting in study hall and I'm so bored..." But then at the end of the note, you had to put thinks like BFF (Best Friends Forever) and LYLAS (Love Ya Like A Sister). And if you or the person you were writing the note to had a boyfriend or even just a crush, you had to write "Jane + John TLA" (True Love Always) and things like that. Then you had to fold the note up into either a square or a triangle, and write "For Your Eyes Only" and the person's name on the outside. Then after the class was over, you would slip it to the person in the hallway.

Writing notes was also a way to let a boy know that you liked him. It was always so exciting if you were writing notes with someone, and then they passed a note back to you. But boys weren't very good note writers because they didn't really gossip that much.

I actually saved some of those notes from high school, and I think I'll pick some up while I'm at my mom's to put some of the funnier parts in here. Of course, the names will be changed to protect the innocent.

On a completely different topic, I've been eating popsicle like a madman (tm Katie). I'm on a popsicle diet. Somehow I don't think I'm going to lose weight, since they are basically sugar water. But they sure taste good. Mmm, mmm, red popsicles.

Well, this is kind of a lame Friday entry. But I have homework to do since I'm not going to be around this weekend. So everyone have a good weekend, and I'll catch you on the flip side.

Warning: clicking on these links will launch a new browser window.

This is an interesting view of Amazon, and the future of web retailing.

Nike has launched a new website, which was apparently "highly anticipated."

Compaq is thinking about selling AltaVista. This would normally not be that exciting to me, except I am doing a paper for school on AltaVista.

If you live in a big city (i.e. not me) you can win screening passes to see The Blair Witch Project.

All right, this has just gone too far. There is a Lara Croft (from Tomb Raider) Arts Festival going on in Amsterdam. People, get a grip. She's NOT REAL!

Cosmo is launching a new magazine for teens called CosmoGirl - boy, that sounds like a great idea. That was sarcasm.

Some aspiring filmmakers did a parody of Shakespeare in Love called "Lucas in Love". It worked - they got attention!
